Spring is coming - Bright lights and light nights

The garden is finally bursting into leaf and the daffodils are just about ready to open, they are certainly much later than usual this year, so they're twice as welcome.

Here at NLP Liverpool we've had the usual mix of NLP training clients, private therapy and NLP sessions, with an increase in Skype coaching over the last few months. The February practice group session was a huge success, with a big turn out and lots of laughing and lots of learning. We'll be running a similar event on 24th April, with the subject choice offered to voters on our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/#!/NLPLiverpool, so hop over and like us and place your vote. At time of writing it looks like a race from the front by "Introduction to hypnosis" with "NLP for Presentations" lagging a good way behind.

Our next certified NLP Practitioner Training will be running from 7th - 14th June. If you book now and pay by 1st May we'll give you a huge discount on our normal price - the early bird offer fee is £1250 + VAT (£1500 total) - the usual fee is £1740 - so now's the time to book and be certain of your place at this price.

If you are at a crossroads in your life or career or are finding it hard to see your way forward in these difficult economic times, call us on 0151 931 5184 and arrange a coaching session so we can help you see your way forward.

That's all for now folks, I've a mailing to get out, watch for it hitting you mailbox or email me julie@nlpliverpool.com  to get your copy.

A New Year and a new start

I'm not sure where the time has gone since I last posted, and am sure there are a few posts that have vanished into the ether over Summer and Autumn. And so here we are, at the start of a New Year. I hope 2013 has started off well for you and that you continue to work towards being happier and healthier this year.

My own resolutions have had a shaky start, the daily walk has not happened at all. I'm not chained to this desk, but I often feel bound to carry on, that a walk would be an indulgence, rather than a useful time to clear my head and think and plan. The weather has also been cold, drizzly and grey here, so there has been no temptation to go out, I'd get cold and wet, and I'm not very good at either. Better get out soon, I hear a big freeze is on its way, so maybe today, I'll wrap up and venture out.

I've made a good start at the planning for this year and given the website a quick dust off. The 2013 course timetable is available for download, with courses scheduled into July already. There have been a flurry of calls over the last few days, with bookings and enquiries as far ahead as June, which shows how much people look to their future in the New Year.

There's a mailing to head out next week, and we're putting together the programme for the NLP Liverpool Practice Group on Monday 11th February. We're going to be looking at Assertiveness, and how to use NLP to be more assertive. These are really enjoyable evenings, relaxed training in a friendly group. Come along. See our website www.nlpliverpool.com for full details and to make your booking.

Been a busy week of meetings for George this week, with some bespoke training work coming up over the next few weeks. It seems companies are spending their training budgets wisely by consulting with us for delivery of very specific training - which is what we do best. It's great to go into an organisation and find out exactly where the improvements are needed and design and deliver training to fulfil that need. It's very satisfying work. I really enjoy finding new materials to use, so we can evolve the training all the time. It keeps it fresh and interesting and means I am always learning about new fields.

Be your best in 2013

Busy, Busy, Busy

We've been very busy over the last few months, and once again I have neglected my blog. The usual Friday evening, end of week slot I set aside for updating the blog seems to have been swallowed up by other things for the last few weeks. I really enjoy the writing, as reviewing my week helps me fell proud of what I've achieved, and plan the following week's activities. So I MUST do it more regularly.

I'll let you into a little secret, I attended a Liverpool Chamber 60 Really Useful Minutes session on Blogging this morning, with Sara Sartorius from Brava Design. I learned about some platforms we're not currently using, and it would be a waste put some of it into practice straight away! Look out Pinterest, here I come.

This month we've also attended a number of networking events and I was lucky enough to get a place on a superb Social Networking seminar run by The Women's Organisation, which really helped me with twitter.

We've run a couple of NLP Liverpool Practice groups since I last wrote the blog, both were well attended and great evenings. For the April event, we ran the "Dealing with Negativity" workshop again, as so many people had wanted to come and were unable to make the first event. The May evening was "Dealing with Procrastination" - We just couldn't put it off any longer. This was a great fun evening, based around the premise of "Eat That Frog". The frog is the unpleasant task you are likely to put off until later, or until it's urgent or worse still, overdue. The idea behind the Eat That Frog principle is that if the worst thing you have to do today is eat a frog, then better get it out of the way first. And if you've a number of frogs  to eat, better start with the biggest and ugliest. See the book by Brian Tracy for more ideas on being more efficient.

We ran a "Building on Success" workshop for an Ad agency in Liverpool recently which was very well received. It's so important in the current climate that organisations continue to train their staff and also take time to recognise their successes and focus how to build on them in the future.

Next week, we'll be mailing our newsletter with details of the next NLP evening session, "Silencing the Worrier Within", which promises to be another stimulating evening of learning NLP techniques you can relate to your work and life. Do come and join us. See www.nlpliverpool.com for full details.

There's still time to book for the NLP Practitioner Programme 18th - 25th June, call me on 0151 931 5184 straight away to register your interest.

Time to sign off now, do follow us on Facebook and Twitter, and sign up for the blog, which I'm going to grow and re-format over the next few months.

Until next time

Keep Well,

Julie

Happy New (Financial) Year

April has sprung with bluebells, glorious sunshine, howling gales and sleet! It's been a busy few months, so apologies for few posts and fewer newsletters, we've been busy training and meeting new people and working on exciting new projects for the coming quarter. As is often the case, they have to remain under wraps for the moment, we'll tell you more next time.

This is going to be a short post as I've a mailing to get out before Easter. We've had some lovely practitioner trainings this quarter and met some fascinating private and coaching clients. The practice group in February was so well received and there were so many people who wanted to come but couldn't, that we are re-running a very similar event on Wednesday 18th April. You can find full details and link to booking through Paypal by clicking here

As always, we've a couple of certified NLP Practitioner courses coming up over the next few months, we're taking bookings for the 18th -25th June course now.

If you'd like some personal 1 to 1 coaching or therapy then call us to arrange a session in person or via telephone or Skype.

Bespoke design and delivery of unique training is our speciality - try us.

As always up to date information about us and our services is available on our website www.nlpliverpool.com or just call us on 0151 931 5184 to tell us what you need and let us help you.

We look forward to hearing from you

Oh look, it's February already

Once again, I'm writing the blog on a Friday evening after an exceptionally busy and varied week. And I'm also wondering where January went.

We've had a really busy time since the last blog post, working very hard on a new venture for us, trialling a course for the automotive industry. The feedback was great so far, and we're hoping to see an upturn in sales and more importantly customer satisfaction, which is what the course was designed to improve - whether a sale went ahead or not. Watch this space for more details.

Earlier this week we undertook some training ourselves - it's unusual to be sat on the delegate side of the room - but we were in great hands. We went to one of Mary Murtagh's "How to run your own PR" workshops, what can I say other than, it was excellent. She has style! Slick, funny, informative and just exactly what we needed - I'm going to schedule in some time, at least once a month to attend to a bit of writing and see what we can achieve.

It reminded me that we really ought to start doing Radio interviews again. A few years ago George went to 7 Waves Radio a couple of times and he was a great interviewee. I shouldn't be surprised though - he just loves what he does, and he loves to talk about it!

We started our February NLP Practitioner course today and have a lovely group. We've had enough interest in the next course in June already, to think seriously about running a March course, to tie in with the end of the financial year - some people always save their training budget until the last minute.

There is also still leadership funding for leads of SMEs which is worth 50% - I can't understand why more people haven't jumped at the chance. For a VAT registered business, you can get your certified NLP Practitioner course, with a full 7 days training for only £725. If you want it, you've only got until 29th February to apply, and until 31st March to complete your course, so do it NOW. Contact me on 0151 931 5184 for a chat, we'll see if you'd be eligible and refer you to the funding agency.

So I've put it onto the website, www.nlpliverpool.com and if we have enough takers, we'll run an intensive 7 day Certified NLP Practitioner course, Saturday 17th - 24th March (with a rest day on Sunday 18th for Mother's day). If you're interested get in touch now.

Just spell checked this and alongside the usual typos, the word "blog" has been highlighted as a possible error - I've been offered "bog", "log" or "blag", none of which will do!

Before I go, remember the Practice Group on 23rd February, and 1 to 1 coaching available in the meantime, in person, by phone or Skype. Call us to book in.

Best Regards

Julie

Tuesday, 10 January 2012

It's been an exceptionally busy start to the year, it seems everyone has decided that this is the year they are going to make a change. And when they want to make the change, they need to do it now! I spent the first few days of the year making sure the website was updated and current, with our course calendar for the rest of 2012.

We're making it our mission to help as many people as possible become confident presenters, and have a 2 day course running every month until at least the middle of the year. We're only taking 10 on each course, to ensure everyone gets enough time on their feet to make a massive difference to their delivery techniques. So choose your dates and book your course as soon as possible, see the website for details.

The NLP Liverpool practice group on 18th January is booking up fast, and as we'll be working on "Dealing with difficult people" we're expecting a bumper turn out. From a vicious boss to those nasty relatives, or that annoying salesperson or insubordinate or sulky staff member, we'll teach you techniques to deal with them, and leave you with the tactics to help in the future. We're also hoping to pick up some spectacular stories from you, so if you've a tale to tell, bring it along and we'll help you with difficult people and situations. Click here for more details and booking via PayPal.

As always, there is an 8 day NLP Practitioner course in the offing, with the next dates scheduled for 3rd - 10th February and 18th - 25th June. Book now and we can hold your place and even arrange for you to pay in installments if you'd find that easier.

Sign up for our newsletter to keep in touch with all our latest news and special offers, visit the website and sign up.

Until next time

A good week

I love writing the blog on a Friday, especially when it's been a good week. I always find it a great way to review events and very occasionally give myself a pat on the back, and also help clear my head for next week's tasks.

We went to an excellent 60 really useful minutes session at Liverpool Chamber today looking at Outlook and using it more efficiently. It was delivered by Rachael and Tracey from Happy and I've come back to the office and put some of the tips into use straight away. Just a few small changes should make a big difference. Some of the features I'd not used were demonstrated and I realised that just moving things about on the screen would make a big difference. I'll also be better able to keep tracks on what I've delegated and whether George has done it!

The rest of the week has been an interesting mixed bag of training, admin, accounts, prospecting and meetings, one of which we had over Skype to save us driving into North Wales. It was very tempting to have an "away day" in beautiful scenery, and the drive is often a great opportunity to plan without the usual distractions. Face to face meetings are also much nicer, but common sense prevailed and we saved some CO2 and chatted over broadband instead. Being able to share the screen is great too, especially when you are planning a brand new course and merging two sets of ideas into one supercharged training. It's going to be great, and the content should be almost complete next week, with first delivery set sometime in January.

George had a couple of days individual training booked at the beginning of the week, which gave me some quiet time in the office to catch up with the admin and accounts side of things.

Think that's where I'll start again on Monday. Going to return to Outlook now and do some more weeding and filing.

Very satisfying.

Happy Weekend All

Julie
